On May 22, 2025, EPA Region 10 settled with Winix America, Inc. (Vernon Hills, Illinois) for violations of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) resulting from the importation ( distribution ) of hundreds of thousands of units of pesticides and devices from June 2021 to May 2022. Specifically, EPA found that Winix America violated FIFRA by importing unregistered pesticides, misbranded pesticides, and misbranded devices and by failing to file reports required by the Act. Overall, the EPA identified 293 separate violations. The company agreed to pay a civil penalty of $1,145,795.
