On December 11, 2023, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order under its authority pursuant to Section 309 of the Clean Water Act to Harris County MUD 82 WWTF in Harris County, Texas 77373. The AO was issued in response to Flow, TSS, NH4, CBOD, E. Coli, and DO violations of its permit limits. The AO requires the facility to 1) submit a list of specific actions taken to correct the violations and 2) submit written certification to EPA that the violations have been corrected and the facility is compliant with its permit. The Respondent must respond to EPA Region 6 within thirty (30) days of the effective dated of the AO. The EPA EJ Screen tool indicates that the city is not located in an area with an Environmental Justice index over 80%.
