EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 1414(g) of the Safe Drinking Water Act to the City of Strong (Respondent) at the Strong Waterworks public water system in Strong, Arkansas. The AO was issued in response to violations of the 40 C.F.R. Part 141.404 for failing to address the significant deficiencies that were identified in a sanitary survey on July 19, 2021. The AO requires the Respondent to address all significant deficiencies and submit a report to EPA and ADH indicating actions have been taken and how the deficiencies have been addressed. If Respondent is technically unable to correct all deficiencies within 30 days of this Order, Respondent shall submit to EPA and ADH a proposed plan including schedule to achieve compliance and address all identified deficiencies. The plan shall be submitted to EPA and ADH for review and approval within 30 days of this Order.
