On May 13, 2024, Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement resolving violations of the Industrial Stormwater General Permit by Superior Systems, Inc, located in Mt. Vernon, Washington. The Respondent is the owner and operator of an industrial facility requiring permit coverage. The Respondent failed to obtain required permit coverage and institute a stormwater management program at their facility. Obtaining permit coverage and instituting a stormwater pollution prevention program will control and limit the discharge of pollutants into Waters of the United States. The facility is in an area with environmental justice concerns. The Respondent has agreed to pay a penalty of $5,000 and has returned to compliance.
