On June 17, 2024. EPA Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement resolving violations of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act at the Walmart Supercenter facility located in Fairbanks, Alaska. The Facility failed to meet hazardous waste accumulation standards, apply appropriate labels on containers of hazardous waste, universal waste and used oil, submit notices of not receiving signed manifests within the 60 day timeframe, and conduct weekly inspections of central accumulation areas. The Respondent has agreed to pay a penalty of $20,000, conduct needed on-site process changes and improvements, and has returned to compliance.
