On September 9, 2024, Region 10 issued an expedited settlement agreement and final order to Granite Construction Lang Street Facility located in Anchorage, Alaska. Alleged violations included effluent exceedances for total suspended solids on five different occasions. This enforcement action stands to prevent an annual discharge of 8,216 pounds of total suspended solids, 224 pounds of biochemical oxygen demand, 3,350 pounds of chemical oxygen demand, 14 pounds of nitrogen, 28 pounds of total Kjeidahl nitrogen, and 8 pounds of phosphorus into the Campbell Creek. The Respondent agreed to pay a penalty amount of $8,438 and has come back into compliance.
