On June 3, 2024, EPA Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement resolving violations of the City of Stayton Wastewater Treatment Facility National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit OR0020407 located in Stayton, Oregon. The facility failed to conduct monitoring on two occasions and for the exceedance of total suspended solids on five occasions and for the exceedance of 5-day biochemical oxygen demand on four occasions. The Respondent has agreed to pay a penalty of $4,500 and has returned to compliance. The facility is in an area with environmental justice concerns.
