On March 6, Region 3 issued a Stop Sale, Use or Removal Order ( SSURO ) to Dollar Trends Inc. located in Philadelphia, PA, alleging violations of FIFRA. This enforcement action furthers FIFRA's purpose of preventing the potentially harmful use of unregistered pesticides. On February 8, 2023, Region 3 conducted a routine FIFRA marketplace inspection at the Dollar Trends facility on 1524 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA. Region 3 reviewed products sold and distributed at this facility and discovered two (2) misbranded pesticides, seventeen (17) unregistered pesticides, and one (1) misbranded device. The SSURO orders Dollar Trends to stop any further distribution, sale, use, or removal of the unregistered pesticides, misbranded pesticides, and misbranded devices, except in compliance with FIFRA. This action does impact environmental justice communities of concern as Dollar Trends is located in a potential EJ area. EPA notified the PA Department of Agriculture of the action.
