Region 10 signed an Expedited Settlement Agreement with Coeur Alaska for RCRA violations at its Juneau, Alaska gold mine. The violations included failure to determine if solid wastes were hazardous wastes, and also for failure to properly manage hazardous waste. Under the terms of the Agreement, Coeur Alaska must certify that it has corrected the RCRA violations and pay a civil penalty of $15,000.
