Summary

Texas Petroleum Investment Company (TPIC) owns and operates three facilities in the Weeks Island area of Louisiana. The production facility is a crude oil and natural gas production facility in Iberia Parish, Louisiana, a major source and, at the time of the investigation, operated under Title V Permit No. 1260-00020-V15. This permit was issued by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) on August 11, 2020 and expires on October 24, 2023. The facility submitted a Title V Renewal application on April 19, 2023. TPIC violated its permit by operating the flare without the presence of a flame and releasing unauthorized emissions to atmosphere. The CAFO requires corrective actions and payment of a penalty.
