On 11/22/2024, EPA Region 10 issued a consent agreement and final order to North Star Casteel Products, Inc, resolving violations of EPCRA Section 313 occurring in Seattle, WA. EPA alleged that North Star Casteel violated EPCRA by failing to accurately and completely report releases of chromium compounds and manganese compounds on Form R reports to the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Additionally, North Star Casteel failed to submit its Form R reports for chromium compounds and/or manganese compounds before the July 1st deadline in 2018, 2019, and 2023. North Star Casteel has corrected its Form R reports and agreed to pay a penalty of $86,800.
