On May 22, 2024, Region 1 issued a NORA to Aquarius Fish Systems LLC for the attempted importation of a misbranded pesticide device (UV Sterilizer 480 Watt Lamps) from Thailand into the United States. The devices are misbranded pursuant to FIFRA section 2(q)(1), 7 U.S.C. 136(q)(1) because there is no EPA Establishment Number, no directions for use, and no caution or warning statements on their labels. FIFRA import, sale and distribution requirements are enforced federally and not delegated to the states. There are no known environmental justice issues associated with this matter.
