The Regional Judicial Officer issued a Final Order on May 31, 2024, ratifying the Consent Agreement settling a penalty action to resolve violations of TSCA Section 409 against Brothers Services Company ( BSC ). BSC performs residential remodeling and renovation in the Baltimore metropolitan area. The Consent Agreement alleges that BSC failed to provide property owners with the EPA?s Renovate Right: Important Lead Hazard Information for Families, Child Care Providers pamphlet prior to beginning renovation activities and failed to retain records demonstrating compliance with the required work practices of TSCA's Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule. comply with the Renovation, Repair, and Painting Lead-Based Paint Rule. The Settlement provides that BSC will pay a penalty of $6,256. EPA directly implements enforcement of TSCA. Maryland is aware of this action.
