On August 14, 2024, Region 10 signed an Administrative Order on Consent to address CWA violations associated with the Makah Tribal Council's wastewater treatment plant in Neah Bay, Washington. Alleged violations include discharging without a permit since July 1, 2021; inadequate QAP Plan & Emergency Response & Communication Plan; and, chronic failure to meet the 85% removal of BOD. The Respondent agreed to the follow provisions of the expired permit, develop an adequate QAP Plan and Emergency Response & Communication Plan, and investigate, document and address issues related to not meeting the 85% removal of BOD.
