On September 27, 2024, Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement which both initiated and concluded an administrative action against Carlisle Construction Materials, LLC in Puyallup, Washington for violations of CAA ? 112(r) Risk Management Program requirements. Respondent failed to comply with several risk management program requirements that apply to its use of pentane and isopentane. Most importantly, Carlisle Construction Materials, LLC failed to establish a system to promptly address process hazard analysis (PHA) findings and recommendations; and to assure that the recommendations were resolved in a timely manner. A system to address PHA concerns of the pentane and isopentane related processes at its facility prevents releases by ensuring timely maintenance and regular review of the most current best management practices. According to EJScreen, this facility is not in an area of potential EJ concerns. The company agreed to pay a penalty of $3,700.
