Chevron U.S.A. Inc. (Chevron) produces renewable diesel at the El Segundo refinery for RIN generation. Chevron generated over 9 million duplicate RINs on the volume of purchased renewable diesel that had been processed with renewable feedstocks. Generating RINs on a volume of renewable fuel that has already been used for RIN generation is a violation under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) Program.
