EPA obtained evidence that Cutting Edge Enterprises (Cutting Edge), offered for sale and sold defeat devices, which rendered inoperative emission control systems on EPA-certified motor vehicles or motor vehicle engines, specifically, Cutting Edge sold at least 622 parts or components that disable, remove, bypass, defeat, or render inoperative air pollution emission control systems installed on or in motor vehicles and motor vehicle engines in compliance with Title II of the CAA. EPA filed a FOV in March of 2020.
EPA signed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) with Cutting Edge Enterprises, Inc. Forest Lake, Minnesota to resolve violations regarding Section 203(a)(3)(B) of the Clean Air Act (CAA) in August of 2023. The CAFO requires Cutting Edge. to pay a penalty of $69,120, and resolves the FOV issued to Cutting Edge March 25, 2020.
