On September 23, 2024, EPA issued CWA Order to Eversource Energy for their facility in Framingham, Massachusetts for failure to submit DMRs pursuant to their CWA NPDES permits authorized to discharge under the Dewatering and Remediation General Permit (DRGP). The Order requires the permittee to submit all outstanding DMRs and continue to report as required by their permit. The facility is located in an area of environmental justice concern. While EPA is responsible for implementing the Clean Water Act in Massachusetts, EPA also notified the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection of this action.
