On March 18, 2025, Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement resolving violations of the Alaska Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) for Stormwater Discharges by Ketchikan Ready Mix Quarry, located in Ketchikan, Alaska. Alleged violations included effluent exceedance for total suspended solids on two occasions, failure to conduct annual employee training, and failure to update the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) annually. The EPA estimates that this action has helped reduce 507.35 lbs./year of sediment . The Respondent has agreed to pay a penalty of $3,741 and has returned to compliance. The estimated cost of injunctive relief is $1000.
