On February 13, 2025, Region 10 filed a consent agreement and final order resolving violations of the Clean Water Act by A-1 Pallets for its facility in Auburn, Washington. A-1 Pallets failed to submit reports, failed to conduct sampling, failed to implement and maintain Best Management Practices, failed to maintain a complete Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, failed to conduct monthly inspections, and failed to correct permit violations. The environment will benefit from this action by preventing particulate matter, i.e., sawdust, from entering waters of the United States. The Respondent has agreed to pay a penalty of $71,950. This facility is in an EJ area with environmental justice concerns.
