On December 19, 2024, EPA issued a Clean Water Act (CWA) administrative order (Order) to A&E Metal Recycling and Packaging, LLC of Westport, MA for failure to submit discharge monitoring reports (DMRs) pursuant to their CWA National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. A&E Metal Recycling and Packaging is authorized to discharge under the Multi Sector General Permit (MSGP). The Order requires the permittee to submit all outstanding DMRs and continue to report as required by their permit. While EPA is responsible for implementing the Clean Water Act in Massachusetts, EPA also notified the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection of this action.
