On October 30, 2024, EPA Region 2 entered into a streamlined administrative cost recovery settlement agreement under CERCLA Section 122(h) with PAFCAN Realty LLC and Qualco, Inc., the owner and operator at the time of the release or threatened release of hazardous substances at the Qualco Chemical Fire Site. The agreement provides for payment of $47,768.74, the full amount of response costs (plus interest) that EPA incurred.
