On July 30, 2025, Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement resolving CWA violations of the state of Oregon's 1200-Z Industrial Stormwater Discharge Permit by B&R Auto Wrecking-American Auto Salvage at its facility in Springfield, Oregon. Alleged violations included failure to properly maintain control measures, missed visual monitoring reports, and failure to collect representative discharge samples as required by the permit. This enforcement action stands to prevent an annual discharge of 518 pounds of Biological Oxygen Demand, 3,078 pounds of Chemical Oxygen Demand, 100 pounds of Nitrate + Nitrite Nitrogen, 92 pounds of Total Nitrogen, 51 pounds of Total Phosphorus, 21,978 pounds of Total Suspended Solids, 469 pounds of Total Iron, and 18 pounds of Copper into Mill Race Creek. The Respondent agreed to pay a penalty of $2,197 and has returned to compliance.
