On March 03, 2025, EPA Region III filed an Expedited Settlement Agreement and Final Order, simultaneously commencing and concluding an administrative action proceeding against Rogers Corporation Bear ( Rogers Corp. ) located at 1100 Governor Lea Road, Bear, Delaware 19701 ( Facility ) for violations of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act ( RCRA ) and the authorized State of Delaware Hazardous Waste Management Program, discovered during EPA's compliance evaluation inspection of the Facility on May 15 - 16, 2024. RCRA gives EPA the authority to control hazardous waste from the cradle-to-grave. This includes the generation, transportation, treatment, storage and disposal of hazardous waste. To that end, EPA develops regulations, guidance and policies that ensure the safe management and cleanup of solid and hazardous waste, and programs that encourage source reduction and beneficial reuse. Rogers Corp. manufactures silicon products including copper-clad laminates, calendared products, and extruded silicon tape. Hazardous waste is generated through its manufacturing activities. The violations in the settlement include failure to place a satellite accumulation area at the point of generation, having open containers of hazardous waste when not adding/removing waste, failure to label hazardous waste containers with the words hazardous waste , failure to properly label universal waste lamps, storage of universal waste greater than a year, failure to maintain weekly inspe
