On February 10, 2025, the US Department of Justice on behalf of the EPA filed a proof of claim in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings of MI Holdings, Inc. The claim relates to the past and future costs incurred and to be incurred at the Findett Corporation Superfund Site located in St. Charles, MO. Chemical recycling and reclamation activities that occurred between the 1960s and the 1990s resulted in the contamination of soil and groundwater with PCBs and solvents. A corporate predecessor of MI Holdings sent materials to the site for recycling.
