The objectives of the Parties in entering into this Decree are to protect public health, welfare, and the environment through the design, implementation, and maintenance of a response action at the Area 1 Site by Settling Work Defendant, to pay response costs of Plaintiffs, and to resolve and settle the claims of Plaintiffs against Settling Defendants as provided in this Decree.
