On June 26, 2025, EPA issued a Unilateral Administrative Order (Order) under Section 1414 of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) to the Rutland City Water Department (Rutland) of Rutland, Vermont. The Order addresses Rutland's failure to complete a Risk and Resilience Assessment and update an Emergency Response Plan as required by Section 1433 of the SDWA. The Order requires Rutland to complete and certify a Risk and Resilience Assessment within 60 calendar days and update its Emergency Response Plan within 120 calendar days.
