On September 10, 2025, Region 10 filed an Expedited Settlement Agreement with King County Department of Local Services - Road Service Division to address Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) violations at its facility in Renton, Washington. The violations involve the failure to make a dangerous waste determination, storage of dangerous waste for greater than 90 days, failure to properly label containers of dangerous waste, failure to conduct and record inspections of areas with containers of dangerous waste, failure to comply with condition of container requirements, failure to keep containers of dangerous waste closed, failure to keep containers of used oil closed, and failure to properly manage universal waste. Under the terms of the Agreement, King County Department of Local Services - Road Services Division certified it has corrected the RCRA violations with additional controls and process improvements. King County also agreed to and paid a civil penalty of $19,500.
