## Summary

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced a settlement with the St. Paul Brass Foundry Company for alleged violations of the Clean Air Act at its facility located at 954 Minnehaha Avenue in the Frogtown neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota. The settlement will require St. Paul Brass to reduce lead and particulate matter emissions.
St. Paul Brass melts and processes lead to make castings for commercial, military, and aerospace applications. Under the settlement, known as an administrative consent order, St. Paul Brass will be required to reduce emissions. The filters will reduce lead emissions from these baghouses by 99.97%. The company will also be required to limit the maximum lead content of alloys produced. A new permit application must be submitted to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency that includes requirements to operate the new HEPA filters and limit lead content in alloys.
