On September 30, 2025, EPA Region 6 issued a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) under its authority pursuant to Section 16 of the Toxic Substances Control Act to Jotun Paints Inc., located in Houston, Texas. The CAFO was issued in response to alleged violations of the Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) rule under TSCA Section 8(a), for Jotun Paints' failure to timely report 24 chemical substances for the 2020 CDR period. The CAFO requires Jotun Paints to pay a civil penalty of $393,000 within 30 days of the issue date and to come into compliance within 60 days of the issue date.
