On March 9, 2026, Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement resolving CWA violations of the state of Alaska?s Industrial Stormwater General Permit by North Star Terminal & Stevedore Company, LLC at its facility in Anchorage, Alaska. Alleged violations included failure to submit timely discharge monitoring reports, failure to document control measure reviews necessary for benchmark exceedances, failure to document corrective actions when necessary, and failure to submit a timely annual report as required by the Permit. This enforcement action stands to prevent an annual discharge of 193 pounds of Biological Oxygen Demand, 2,441 pounds of Chemical Oxygen Demand, 21 pounds of Nitrate + Nitrite Nitrogen, 303 pounds of Total Nitrogen, 5 pounds of Total Phosphorus, 7,213 pounds of Total Suspended Solids and 161 pounds of Total Iron into Cook Inlet. The Respondent agreed to pay a penalty of $5,353 and has returned to compliance.
