On December 1, 2025, Region 8 issued and Expedited Settlement Agreement (ESA) to the City of Cut Bank Water Treatment Plant to address violations of their NPDES permit requirements by failing to submit monthly discharge monitoring reports within required timeframes and failing to document weekly inspections of the backwash ponds. Under the Consent Agreement, the City of Cut Bank has agreed to pay a civil administrative penalty of $1,010.00 to resolve its federal civil penalty liability for these alleged violations. The City of Cut Bank has corrected all deficiencies identified by the EPA. The ESA was public noticed for 30 days.
