On March 13, 2025, EPA Region 9 conducted a routine unannounced inspection at Grand Lake Ace
Hardware located at 1221 Grand Ave, Piedmont, CA 94610 to verify the store's compliance with the
Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). One of the inspected products, Insect
Zapper Racket Style or as displayed on Ace Hardware's website Diamond Visions Indoor and Outdoor
Insect Racket Zapper, appeared to be a pesticide device based on the definition found at 40 CFR 152.500(a) but did not bear an EPA Establishment Number. A Notice of Warning was issued on 6/25/2025.
