On April 25, 2025, EPA Region 6 began an investigation of a fire and explosion that occurred January 29, 2025, at Blue Tide Environmental, LLC (?Blue Tide?) located in Baytown, Texas. The purpose of the investigation was to determine Blue Tide?s compliance with the requirements of the CAA, specifically Section 112(r)(1) of the CAA, 42 U.S.C. ? 7412(r)(1), the General Duty Clause. The information currently available to EPA, collected as a result of the investigation, suggests that Blue Tide is in violation of the CAA.
