The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act program identified compliance issues during an August 2024 EPA RCRA inspection conducted at Clean Harbors Environmental Services Inc., Kimball, Nebraska. The EPA alleges that Clean Harbors Environmental Services Inc. violated its RCRA permitting requirements by failing to minimize releases of hazardous waste to the environment in a permitted area and by failing to store hazardous waste in closed containers. In addition, the EPA also alleges that Clean Harbors Environmental Services Inc. violated RCRA large quantity generator requirements by failing to label a hazardous waste storage container with an accumulation start date and failing to store hazardous waste in a container in a RCRA permitted 90-day storage area.
