EPA conducted an inspection and issued an information request to CertainTeed and determined that it was in violation of its Class I Operating Permit and 40 C.F.R. Part 63, Subpart NNN and 40 C.F.R. Part 60, Subpart PPP at its facility in Kansas City, Kansas.   In settlement of the violations, CertainTeed has agreed to modify its operating permit, and will submit an emission reduction plan for two of its furnaces and will pay a civil penalty of $781,175.
