The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act program identified compliance issues during EPA RCRA inspections conducted at Safety Kleen Systems, Inc. facilities located at Grand Island, Nebraska and Wichita, Kansas. The EPA alleges that Safety Kleen Systems Inc. violated its RCRA permitting requirements at its Grand Island, Nebraska facility by failing to maintain a secondary containment system for the hazardous waste storage tank. The EPA also alleges that Safety-Kleen Systems Inc. violated its RCRA permitting requirements at its Wichita, Kansas facility by failing to properly document daily inspections of the hazardous waste storage tank system.
