On April 24, 2006, at 11:00 am, an inspector discovered a sodium hypochlorite release. The NRC was notified on April 24, 2006 at 3:33 pm - or 4 hours and 33 minutes after the supervisor had knowledge of the release. The total amount of sodium hypochlorite released to the environment was 1271 lbs (approx. 12 times the RQ). This release went the ground and did not go off-site.
