This is a judicial enforcement action pursuant to RCRA against Morton International that involves 23 facilities located in several different Regions of EPA. In November 2005, the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reached an agreement with Morton International regarding payment of a $900,000 civil penalty. The Region 9 portion of the settlement is for violations at one facility in Tustin, California formerly operated by Morton Inrternational. The Region 9 portion of the penalty totals $1286.
