U.S. EPA FILES A CONSENT AGREEMENT AND FINAL ORDER WITH MW GALVANIZING, INC.
On September 19, 2006, Region 5 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) with MW Galvanizing, Inc. (MW), located at 7400 South Damen Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. The CAFO alleges that MW violated State law by operating a hazardous waste storage facility without a permit by failing to comply with the provisions to take part in hazardous waste training, failing to have a contingency plan, failing to submit exception reports, and failing to have a written integrity assessment for a hazardous waste storage tank. The CAFO requires a civil penalty of $32,130, as well as $2,481 credit for a $4,097 SEP.
