The facility notified the NRC of a release of 3000 gallons (45,906 lbs) of sulfuric acid eight (8) days after the release occurred. Sulfuric acid is a CERCLA hazardous substance and an EPCRA extremely hazardous substance with an RQ of 1000 lbs. This release was 45 times the RQ.
