This is a Federal Facilities Agreement between the United States Department of the Air Force, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9, and the State of California, for the Edwards Air Force Base, California. Edwards AFB began military operations in 1933 and its functions include research and development of aerospace systems, aircraft testing and maintenance, and troop training. The Site was placed on the NPL on August 30, 1990. For purposes of cleanup, the site is divided into 10 Operable Units, some of which will have more than one Record of Decision (ROD).
