On September 27, 2007, U.S. EPA Region 5 issued an administrative complaint and compiance order (Complaint) to North American EN, Inc. (NAEN), located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, for violations of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act that were detected as a result of a February 28, 2005 Compliance Evaluation Inspection and a November 28, 2005 Case Development Inspection.
The Complaint alleges the NAEN failed to: (1) develop a hazardous waste contingency plan; (2) develop and implement a training program for facility personnel who handle hazardous wastes; and (3) failed to determine if a solid waste generated at the facility is a hazardous waste.
The Complaint proposes a penalty of $55,748.
