VIOLATIONS: The Respondent's oil field facility was a point source discharge of pollutants, specifically oil field brine (produced water), to the receiving waters of a tributary of House Creek, located at Northeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 20 North, Range 7 East, Pawnee County, Oklahoma. The EPA observed the facility had discharged brine during an inspection conducted on April 11, 2007.
RELIEF: The Class I Complaint proposes a penalty of $10,000 for the violations. A SEP has been performed by the Respondent to reduce the proposed penalty. The SEP was in the form of ÂEnvironmental Restoration and Protection The SEP and consisted of the following: Closing out and shutting down a tank battery facility; removing all the equipment from the facility; and remediating the soils at the facility.
