This is a joint order to North Providence (the Town) and the Narragansett Bay Commission (NBC). It is being issued to require the Town and NBC to address complaints from a resident of North Providence regarding multiple wet weather SSOs and private property backups at the same location. Both NBC and the Town own wastewater infrastructure in the vicinity of Warren Avenue, where the overflows have occurred, and neither entity has taken responsibility for the overflows. The AO requires NBC and the Town requires to coordinate the assessment of the causes of the SSOs, evaluate solutions, submit plans for the projects to resolve the problems, to identify the party or parties responsible for implementing the projects, and to submit a schedule for completing the work.
