Summary

VIOLATIONS: The Respondent tank battery facility was a point source discharge of pollutants, specifically brine, to the receiving waters of a tribuatry of Carter Creek, located in the Section 15, Township 9 North, Range 6 East, Seminole County, Oklahoma. The discharge of brine was documented during a March 7, 2003, inspection. RELIEF: Upon notification of the inspection findings, the Respondent immediately creased the discharge and began a flush and vacuum cleanup effort of the contaminated flow path and the affected farm pond. Additionally, the Respondent removed the drdain pipe from the tank battery wall which was a discharging the brine outside the containment area. The Order specifies that the Respondent should also take steps to restore the brine contaiminated area in the flow path and in the tributary by applying soil amendments to neutralize the sodium chloride
