The owner of this facility was issued Field Citation II-UST-FC-581 in the amount of $150 for violating 40 CFR 280.31(b): failure to ensure proper operation of cathodic protection system. Following the inspection the facility owner contacted the UST installer who informed him that the UST is actually a composite tank and not a steel tank. The facility owner needs to inform the NJDEP of this because NJDEP records indicate the UST system is sacrificial anode.
