## Abstract

EPA is taking final action to fully approve the Operating Permits Program of the State of Maine (program). Maine submitted its program for the purpose of complying with Clean Air Act (the Act) requirements for a state to develop a program to issue operating permits to all major stationary and certain other sources. EPA granted source category-limited interim approval to Maine's operating permit program on February 21, 1997. On September 28, 2001, EPA received Maine's revisions to its program that address the issues described in EPA's interim approval.
