## Abstract

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is redesignating to attainment the entire Tacoma-Pierce County nonattainment area (hereafter "the Tacoma area" or "the area") for the 2006 24-hour fine particulate matter (PM<INF>2.5</INF>) national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS). The EPA is also approving as a revision to the Washington State Implementation Plan (SIP), the associated maintenance plan that provides for continued compliance of the 2006 24-hour PM<INF>2.5</INF> NAAQS. Additionally, the EPA is approving the 2017 and 2026 motor vehicle emissions budgets included in Washington's maintenance plan for PM<INF>2.5</INF> and nitrogen oxides.
