Abstract

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is finalizing a determination that the New Jersey portion of the Northeast Pennsylvania-Upper Delaware Valley Interstate Air Quality Control Region (Warren County) Sulfur Dioxide (SO<INF>2</INF>) Nonattainment Area has attained the 1971 SO<INF>2</INF> primary and secondary National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). This action does not constitute a redesignation to attainment. The Warren County Nonattainment Area will remain nonattainment for the 1971 primary and secondary NAAQS until the EPA determines that the Area meets the Clean Air Act (CAA) requirements for redesignation to attainment, including an approved maintenance plan. This action is being taken under the CAA.
